There's a theme I've noticed this summer so far. Wind and rain and a lot of water. There's standing water in many fields in my area. More rain possibly today...after rain last night. Am I sick of it yet...only slightly. I think I'm developing webbed feet. LOL
I think we've decided we should get my laptop fixed. It'll be difficult because it's quite a drive to take it to any decent repair shop and even then there's no guarantee it can be fixed. I guess for now, I have to break down and write with the desktop...hopefully it doesn't crash too. The desktop is over 6 years old and getting pretty clunky...it even shuts off on its own when it gets too tired. LOL Maybe if I complain too much about "out-dated" software, the husband will break down and buy me a new computer. LOL
Today I have a lot to do and not too much time to do it. Let's see how much I can get finished, shall we?

The Wings of a Storm
There's been a lot of rain in my area since the snow melted away. I love the rain, but even this much rain gets to me. I think mostly it's because I can't go out and "dance" in the rain. Although today, I did stomp through a puddle at the end of my drive. I could have at least taken my shoes off first.
My laptop crashed in a big way. Now I have to decide if it's worth getting fixed or if I should just get a new one. Later on this evening, I'll sit down and do some shopping around and see which would be the best way to go. This has been really difficult on my writing because I don't like writing on this desktop.
Got the order in for my poncho...or if you rather, cape. I'm anxious for it to get here. I've been going over all the ways I can wear it and to the places I can wear it.
I have a little less than a month before some titles I've been waiting for come out. Summer reading this year will spread way out into fall and hopefully winter. I think it's about time to start building new shelves.
But now, I have things I need to do.

Gossamer wings
I am buying a poncho. Not the ponchos I used to wear in the 1970s, but a chiffon poncho that promises to be beautiful. Then later...as a certain phone commercial says, "The search is on for cute boots."
It's been one of those days where I don't want to do much because I'm so tired. Oh well, suck it up and get over it right?
I think this week, I'll do some of the things I've been meaning to do. Maybe. Maybe not. I'm still undecided.

In fiery sequences
Today my writing went down in a flaming heap. Well, I guess it just smoldered a bit because I decided to do other things instead of write. But lucky me, writing this does count as actual writing. Right? No? Well okay, maybe after I get some more relaxing in.
Today was one of those days where I decided to do something and I damn well did. Took my youngest son out to the state park closest to us. We watched a short film on the history of the place and found out it's one of the longest state parks in the US. Pretty cool stuff if ya ask me. It was my way of feeding my inner nerd so it'll be appeased while I strangle my inner editor over the next few days. =)
Now on to a show I recorded last night.

It's been one of those....
Days. Weeks. Months.
I've been doing not much of anything, except writing. One of these days, I'm going to have a whole day or hopefully two to myself where I can spend the whole day doing nothing but writing. If I had a better battery in my laptop, I'd take it out and sit by a body of water I know and write away in the shade.
Or maybe....
I'll take my rod and reel and fish. I surprise a lot of people because I am a girl and yet, I bait my own hook and will remove a fish from the end of my line....except those certain fish with teeth. For example: A Sauger. They have some really wicked teeth. I caught one last weekend. You'd think with teeth like those, they'd bite right through the line (I don't fish with a wire leader) but it didn't.
Now it's time to wander away from the web pages and bury myself in a story...either one of my own design or another by one of my favorite authors.
